Whasssupppp my dawgs?

Posted by Hello

This is what happens when mom and dad get a digital camera. The good news for all you human friends is that they can easily post pics (see link to pictures on the right) for your viewing pleasure. They have added an album entitled 'Life in France' which will cover any (and probably all) daily activity - such as their apartment, their town, Dawn's classes, etc. Additionally coming soon will be an album entitled 'Voyage through Paris' which will have pictures of all the well-known monuments of Paris as well as some things that mom & dad find that they just like or find interesting. It's the best way to experience Paris without the cost of traveling here. Check back soon for the album.

Amy, give Frank the paws up for me!

Emotionally disturbing video

I ran into this article while doing research on how to calm Phantom's (happy dog below) seperation anxiety. Now I have anxiety. Even if you don't read the whole story or watch the horrible video please e-mail this to other animal lovers (or even likers) so they can choose to not purchase Iam's. Phantom's seperation anxiety doesn't seem to be such a big problem anymore.....

What’s Wrong With Iams?
For nearly 10 months, PETA conducted an undercover investigation in an Iams contract laboratory. What our investigator witnessed and captured on hidden camera would outrage any animal lover: dogs who had gone crazy from being confined to barren steel-and-cement cells, dogs who had been left on a paint-chipped floor after having their vocal chords severed and part of their leg muscles hacked out, dogs who were sweltering in scorching heat and shivering in bitter cold, and horribly sick dogs and cats languishing in their cages, neglected and left to suffer without veterinary care. The animals in Iams’ tests are no different from our dogs and cats at home when it comes to deserving companionship, play, a stimulating environment, and the right not to be tormented in painful experiments.

Long Night?

Posted by Hello
After a long night of drinking and pictionary, Gypsy was reduced to sleeping-it-off in a box. The next morning he was seen going into felines anonymous.

Is it really that hard?

Posted by Hello
Really is your job that hard? Try sitting on a pedestal for 8 hours varying positions so the public knows you really are a person. Try it, I dare you.

My Favorite Salad Dressing

This recipe comes from Pierre's grandmother and I have to tell you the French know what tastes good!

Ingredients:
Olive Oil
Vinegar
Balsmic Vinegar
Arome Savour (I'm looking for the English equivalent)
Salt
Pepper
Spicy Mustard

There are no true amounts, it's taste and see. I put a thin layer of olive oil on the bottom of the salad bowl, a tiny bit of vinegar, more balsmic vinegar than regular vinegar but not much more, maybe about 1/2 teaspoon of arome savour, a dash of salt, couple dashes of pepper and about 1/6 teaspoon of mustard. A key is to spin the salad to allow the dressing to adhere to the lettuce when stirred.

Our Town

Here is the link to our town until I can get some pics to put on. Villemomble, France

Freezing

I just want you to know it is freezing here! For a girl from Texas, a move to France is ummm......an adjustment in every aspect but this cold really bites. The sad truth is that our apartment seems to be colder than outside. I'm not sure if it was constructed to be a meat freezer but if so it serves it's function very well.

Any tips on how to warm up the place without using the horribly expensive electric heater..?

Dawn & Pierre-Frédéric Ehrer Posted by Hello

Here we are posing after our wedding. I didn't understand a word of the wedding but I assume we are married and I'm not traded as a slave to Pierre..................hmmmm he does say "cook" a lot....

Dawn & Pierre with Pierre's parents. Posted by Hello

This is in the Ehrer garden. Mr and Mrs Ehrer were great to put up with me for two months, not an easy task as we all know.
